Based outside of Boston in Lexington, MA, the firm was founded in 1980 by BarBara Bools. The company has clients in 75 cities worldwide, and employees in many locations, connected via technology in a "virtual office" format. All B&A consultants have backgrounds in marketing and advertising. President BarBara Bools held positions in manufacturing and entertainment prior to founding Bools & Associates. Vice President Lydia Swan held creative positions with J. Walter Thompson and was a columnist for The Chicago Tribune. Bools and Swan are co-authors of Power Failure, published by St. Martin's Press. Bools & Associates' clients include major corporations in the fields of advertising, consumer goods, entertainment, technology, travel, financial services, publishing, automotive, retail and fast food, among others.
